The 200mm f/2 Night Photography Masterpiece Arrives! Sigma to Launch Three Lenses on August 19th, with RF Mount Hit by "APS-C Exclusive" Blow Again

Temmon Camera News 26

According to leaks from relevant media, Sigma will hold a new product launch event on August 19, 2025, to release three lens products. The specific specifications of the three lenses are as follows:

Positioned for sports photography
Compatible with Sony E-mount and Leica L-mount
35mm f/1.2 DG II Art

Second-generation update of the Art series

12mm f/1.4 DC DN
APS-C format
Compatible with Sony E, Leica L, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, and Canon RF mounts

Sigma Lenses
Currently, RF mount compatibility remains limited. This time, only the 12mm f/1.4 DC DN supports the Canon RF mount, continuing the current strategy of only opening APS-C lenses to the RF mount. Full-frame lenses do not yet offer RF versions. There are currently 8 Sigma lenses for the RF mount, all of which are APS-C, including: 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN, 17-40mm f/1.8 DC Art, 16-300mm f/3.5-6.7 DC OS, 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN, 16mm f/1.4 DC DN, 23mm f/1.4 DC DN, 30mm f/1.4 DC DN, and 56mm f/1.4 DC DN. The planned Sigma 12mm f/1.4 DC DN will become the 9th APS-C lens supporting the Canon RF mount.
The leak source also mentioned that Sigma may be developing a "full-frame travel zoom lens" and a "super-large aperture prime lens," with details and release time to be confirmed. On the Canon lens front, at least one new lens is expected to be released by the end of August or early September, in line with its traditional new product cycle.
