Breaking the Rainy Day Photography Curse | Secrets to Cinematic Shots with Fogged Bus Windows and Daisies

The winding water streaks on glass windows are the best natural film filters—who says rainy seasons only mean staying at home waiting for sunny days? This time, I hopped on a swaying bus with my camera, and amid the misted, moisture-laden Car window and fields of small daisies, I discovered the unique narrative shots that belong to humid weather.
The secret weapon is this one-handed operable Sony A7C II, paired with the versatile 24-50mm lens, which allows flexible composition even in the cramped bus compartment. A special shout-out to its AI focusing system: when the bus jolts, the lens acts like a stabilizer, capturing even the raindrops on eyelashes with crystal clarity. The inherent gray tones of overcast days are tamed by creative presets into sophisticated cinematic hues, and skin retains a pearlescent glow even in low light.
Sharing my rainy day development recipe: Start with the FL film mode, set the color temperature to 4000K for a crisp coolness, reduce contrast and brightness/darkness by 9 levels each, and slightly lower saturation by 2 stops. These parameters add a layer of frosted glass to the frame, amplifying the misty, rainy atmosphere to the fullest. Remember to fine-tune based on on-site lighting: reduce sharpness when window reflections are intense, and increase the sharpness range by 1 stop to preserve details of water droplets on petals.
Try turning moisture into your creative ally. The moment you tuck your umbrella into your bag, you might just encounter this year’s most stunning visual storytelling.
