The Fujifilm X-E5 features a retro and classic rangefinder-style design. I have been using models from the X-E series, starting from the X-E2, X-E3, to the X-E4, and I've always loved them. The X-E1 is also a classic, while the X-E2S feels like a bit of a letdown. I've always thought that this series would be nearly perfect if it added in-body image stabilization and improved focusing speed.
Sure enough, the X-E5 meets all my requirements. What excites me even more is the new "pancake" lens, the 23mm F2.8. It delivers delicate image quality and is compact in size. It's a pity that the aperture is a bit small, but you can't have the best of both worlds. I believe this lens will be snapped up frantically, just like the 27mm F2.8 kit lens for the X-E4 back in the day, which remained highly popular.
The last appealing feature is the new design element on the top of the camera body: a built-in film simulation filter dial, which is currently unique to Fujifilm cameras.
It's expected that the X-E5 will also be hard to get hold of. Are you planning to buy one?
